With her children at her side, Gursharan Bawa (Ahluwalia) passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026. Gursharan, affectionately known as Cheena, was born on September 13, 1940, in Lahore, India. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, amazing cook and bridge player.
Cheena will be reunited with her beloved husband Avtar and cherished daughter Era (Robin). She will be deeply missed by her children Neena (Nitin), Jassie (Dyana) and her five granddaughters: Tia (Jessica), Elisha, Natasha, Chloe, and Maya.
We will gather to honour Cheena's life with a service at Thompson in the Park on April 17 at 10:00 a.m., followed by Ardaas and langar at the Winnipeg Sikh Centre (1248 Sikh Centre Way).
